Brasstown Bald down to Jacks Gap on the Jacks Knob Trail.  This 2.4 mile hike, mostly downhill, descent of 1,400 feet.

Brasstown Resort Blue Trail.  This is a pleasant 2.6 mile hike with option to have lunch at the Brasstown Valley Resort afterwards.

Meet at upper parking lot at the Resort on Hwy. 76.

Byron Herbert Reece Trail to Flat Rock Gap.  This 2 mile round trip hike is entirely within the Blood Mountain Wilderness Area.  400 foot climb in the first mile.

Chatuge Dam.  Easy hike across dam and on the new asphalt extension.  Beautiful view.  Round trip distance about 3 miles.

Coker Creek Falls and Trail near Coker Creek, TN.  Easy to moderate 3 miles, one-way past three beautiful waterfalls to the confluence with the Hiwassee River.  Short shuttle required.

Coleman River Trail.  One of the prettiest trails in North Georgia featuring cascades, old growth forest and huge boulders.  This 2 mile round trip hike is rated moderate.  Good Spring (May) hike.

Conasauga Falls near Tellico Plains TN.  Moderate 1.5 mile in and out trail to a beautiful waterfall.  Although the trail descends to the river and climbs out, it is well laid out with gentle switchbacks.

Desoto Falls.  An easy to moderate hike to see two scenic waterfalls.  The round trip distance is 1.9 miles.

Dukes Creek Falls on the Richard Russell Scenic Highway.  Hike 2.2 miles round trip to the 250 ft. cascading falls.  Elevation change is 360 feet.

Hanging Dog Recreation Area.  A 3 mile loop hike on the Mingus Trail, Ramsey Cliff Trail, Ramsey Bend Connector Trail and return via the Mingus Trail.   278 ft. elevation change.

Helton Creek Falls.   Side trip down FS road for a short hike, then  relax by beautiful, cool Helton Creek Falls.  1.5 miles.

High Shoals Falls.  A 2.5 mile round trip hike to view two beautiful waterfalls.  This hike is rated moderate due to some climbing and descending. ( ≈ 2:45 hrs )

Hogpen Gap on the Richard Russell Highway.  Hike the AT north toward Low Gap for approximately 3 miles in and out.

Hogpen Gap on the Richard Russell Highway to Whitley Gap Shelter.  This 3 mile round trip hike crosses several rock outcrops with outstanding winter views.

Horse Trough Falls.  Short hike to viewing platform for waterfall. Then hike scenic side trails along two creeks that are the headwaters of the Chattahoochee for a total of about 2 miles.

Jacks Gap to Brasstown Bald on the Jacks Knob Trail.  This 2.4 mile hike has several moderate to strenuous grades, with 1,400 foot climg.

Jack Rabbit Trail at Jack Rabbit Campground.  A 2.4 mile, ( ≈ 1:30 hrs) mile easy, scenic loop trail on Lake Chatuge in North Carolina.  Length of hike can be increased.

Moccasin Creek Trail.  A scenic 2-3 mile hike along a creek with several waterfalls.

Note:  Too short for the drive for many.

The Short Miller Trek at Brasstown Valley Resort.  A 2.6 mile ( ≈1:40 hr ) hike with the option to extend the hike. Have lunch at the resort afterwards.

Springer Mountain  Area.  Long Creek Falls.  Climb southern terminus of AT, then then back in the car to have lunch at scenic Long Creek waterfall.  Long but beautiful drive with 3.4 miles easy to moderate hiking.

Park & Ride in Blairsville.

Tallulah Gorge State Park near Clayton.  Trip to Visitor Center with interpretative video show.  Hike North and South Rim Trails for 2+ miles.  State Park parking pass or $5.

Three Forks along scenic Long Creek for 90 minutes and then return.  Hiking on the AT and Benton MacKaye Trail.  Side trip to Long Creek Falls. Trail is easy to moderate.

Park & Ride in Blairsville.

Unicoi Lake Trail.  Hike easy loop across the dam and around the lake for 2.4 miles.  Lunch at Lodge (bring your own or eat in dining room).  State Park Pass or $5.

Intersection of Hwy 75 and 180 south of Hiawassee.

Unicoi Turnpike Trail near Coker Creek, TN.  An easy 2.5 miles one-way from Unicoi Gap to Doc Rogers Field, mostly downhill.  Along the way, the grave of a Union soldier and the relics of Rolling Stone CCC Camp.  Short shuttle on well maintained road.

Yellow Mountain Trail.  A 3 mile loop on old logging roads in the Chattahoochee National Forest, Cooper Creek Area.  Easy to moderate.
