Hike Ratings:   Distance:     A = up to 3 miles                 Terrain/Footing:  1 = easy

                                          B = 3-6 miles                                                  2 = average

                                          C = 6-8 miles                                                  3 = moderate

                                          D = 8-10 miles                                                4 = strenuous

                                          E = over 10 miles                                           5 = very strenuous

                                                              PLEASE NOTE:  The grey shaded hikes are longer and faster  than the White shaded hikes

Big Lost Creek is located in TN. on the BMT. Less than six miles in and out. This easy, mostly level hike follows Big Lost Creek. Beautiful gorge, high rock walls on each side. Cascading rapids, falls, and beautiful rock formations on one side. Giant icicles in winter make this a gorgeous winter hike. Watch on you tube

Duncan Ridge from Mulky Gap to Fish Gap for 6 miles RT. This section has some moderate  to strenuous asents and descents. ( Approx. 3:30 hrs )

Yonah Mountain near Cleveland, GA. 5 miles. All hikers are welcome to hike the new trail to Yonah.  A 5 mile round trip with 1,700 feet elevation gain. Trail is a combination of moderate and some steep and rocky sections. John, the hike leader will meet the group at the trail head

Rabun Bald from the Bartram Trail on Hale Ridge Road We begin this hike climbing Georgia’s second highest peak, Rabun Bald (4,696 ft.), for an awesome three-state vista from the summit observation deck. Then we will return eastward on the Three Forks Trail to Hale Ridge Road, for a hike total of 7.4 miles.  Pass a waterfall on the way!!  Short Shuttle

Cooper Creek Scenic Area Sampler begins at the Cooper Creek Parking Area and hike

the 1.7 mile Eye on Wildlife trail back to Parking Lot. From there we will continue hiking over to the Yellow Mountain Trail to Shope Gap Trail and back to Parking Lot for another 3.2 mile hike. If we have time, we'll go over to Sea Creek Falls. This is a very scenic area around Coopers Creek and features easy to moderate hiking.

Benton MacKaye Trail from Hwy. 60 at Wilscot Gap to Skeenah Gap. This 5.3 mile section has many ups and downs, some short steep areas.  Shuttle required.

Standing Indian Area. We’ll begin at the Information kiosk sign. Take the Long Branch Trail for 2 mi.up to the AT at Glass mine Gap, then turn left and follow the AT for 3.2 mi. to Wallace Gap, turn for a total 8.2 mile hike.

Coosa Backcountry Trail from Wolfpen Gap to Barnett Gap.  At Calf Stomp Gap we will take FS road 108 down to Barnett Gap.  900 foot elevation climb at start of hike.  5.1 mi. Short shuttle.

Winding Stair Gap to Rock Gap and back. A 7.4 mile moderate hike on AT with optional additional 1.4 RT to Big Wasilik Poplar Tree .( 5:50 hrs)

Jacks Gap to Chattahoochee Gap on the Jacks Knob Trail.  This 4.6 mile round trip hike has several moderate to strenuous grades both directions. (≈ 3:40 hrs)

Fires Creek Rim  7.4 miles Total, Up Sassafras Ridge Trail to Rim (easiest way up to rim), 2 miles on the Rim passing Signal Bald, a short side trip on the Chunky Gal Trail thrown in for the vista at Tusquitee Bald and then back to the Rim Trail and down Far Bald Trail 1.7 miles.  Long gravel FS road up to trailhead

Jack Rabbit hike/bike trail.  7.6 miles.  Hike four loops of the Jack Rabbit Hike/ bike trail--3.1 miles on the white blazed loop, 2 miles on the blue blazed loop, 1 mile on the orange blazed trail, 1.5 miles on yellow blazed loop.  Great views of Lake Chatuge and variety of hard woods.

Panther Creek Falls in the Cohuttas .Start at three forks area for 2.3 mi. on East Cowpen Tr., then turn onto Panther Creek Tr. down to the falls ( another 2.3 mi.) then back out. 9.2 miles RT.

Chunky Gal Trail from Perry Gap over the top of Shooting Creek Bald  (Boteler Peak) to Glade Gap on Hwy 64 in NC.  5.5 miles (≈ 3.5 hrs).  Outstanding view from top.  Shuttle required.

Trails of Tallulah Gorge State Park. Hike the North Rim Tr. with its views of several falls, go down Hurricane Falls staircase to the swinging bridge (approx 200 steps each way), then hike the High Bluff Loop, and maybe trek a portion of Stoneplace Tr..A moderate hike with no long climbs (except the steps) 6-8 miles depending on what the group decides.

Indian Grave Gap to Tray Mountain and back 5 mile moderate hike on the AT.  The trail passes Indian Grave Gap (3113 ft), a fabulous hillside of Galax, the “cheese factory” turnoff, a viewpoint just before Tray Mt. (4430 ft).

 Benton MacKaye Trail from Hwy. 60 across Toonowee Mountain to the suspension bridge and return for 7.2 miles ( ≈3:40 hrs) round trip.  Elevation change 800 ft. in, 900 ft out. Parking limited at trailhead.
