Leisure hike: Long Creek Falls to Hickory Flats Cemetery in the Three Forks Area of the A.T. From the falls, we will continue up the AT to an old cemetery (Hickory Flats) for lunch, making a round trip of 4 miles. This is a gorgeous drive and hike deep in the forest of Fannin County.

Jack Rabbit hike/bike trail.  Hike four loops of the Jack Rabbit Hike/ bike trail for 7.6 mi. 3.1 miles on the white blazed loop, 2 miles on the blue blazed loop, 1 mile on the orange blazed trail, 1.5 miles on yellow blazed loop. Do some or all of the loops. Great views of LakeChatuge

Big Lost Creek is located in TN. on the BMT. Less than six miles in and out. This mostly level hike follows Big Lost Creek. Beautiful gorge, high rock walls on each side. Cascading rapids, falls, and beautiful rock formations on one side. Giant icicles in winter make this a gorgeous winter hike.

Rabun Bald from the Bartram Trail on Hale Ridge Road – begin this hike climbing Georgia’s second highest peak, Rabun Bald (4,696 ft.), for an awesome three-state vista from the summit observation deck. Return eastward on the Three Forks Trail to Hale Ridge Road, for a hike total of 7.4 miles.   Short Shuttle

Leisure hike: Vogel State Park Sampler. 1/2-mile Byron Reese nature trail, then go up the Coosa Backcountry to 180 - RT 2 miles, then go on to the Blood Mountain trail for a mile or so and return to the park down that old road bed. Total of approx. 4 miles. Vogel is a fee area.

Benton MacKaye Trail, Section 15 near Coker Creek, TN. Moderate 4.2 miles in and out, from Sandy Gap NC to Sixmile Gap, with the optional side trip up Waucheesi Mountain. The side trip will add @ 1.5 miles but includes GREAT 360º views.  The main trail walks the ridge along the TN/NC line, with beautiful views in the winter, and a stone state line marker engraved in the 1821 state line survey.  Total: 5.7 mi.
