Clear Creek Trail and Benton Falls near the Ocoee River Gorge in TN.  This 5 mile hike may be a key-exchange hike.

The Miller Trek at Brasstown Valley Resort.  This 6.5 mile loop is moderately difficult with an elevation change of 1,400 feet and some rough, rocky footing. (3 hrs)

Yellow Mountain Trail in the Coosa Wildlife Management Area.  7 miles and 800 foot elevation change.  The Yellow Mountain Trail to the top, then the Shope Gap Trail to the Duncan Ridge Road, follow the road to the Mill Shoal Creek Trail which will take us back to the Campground.  Relax with your feet in the beautiful creek at the end of the hike.  Joint Long and Short hike due to Celo trip.

Chunky Gal Trail from Perry Gap over the top of  Shooting Creek Bald  (Boteler Peak) to  Glade Gap on Hwy 64 in NC.  5.5 miles ( ≈ 2˝ hrs ).  Outstanding view from top.  Shuttle required.

Tesnatee Gap to Levelland Mountain on the AT and return.  This 7.6 mile hike has spectacular views from Cowrock, Wolf Laurel Top, and Levelland Mountains.

Unicoi Gap north on the AT to a mile past Indian Grave, return to Indian Grave and out on the Andrews Cove Trail.  6 miles.   ATTN:  A 1,000+ ft. climb in about 1 1/2 miles to the top of Rocky, and about 2,000 ft, sometimes rough descent in a little over 3 miles down to Andrews Cove.

Chunky Gal Trail from Glade Gap to Perry Gap and return via FS road.  11 mile hike.  See the new lookout of Shooting Creek Bald (Boteler Peak) that MHH opened up.  (0.6 mile side trip) Due to the length of the hike, the pace will be set at 2 to 2.5 miles per hour. Hikers need to be capable of keeping up with this pace because we will need to stay together as there are confusing intersections. The time to complete the one-way hike will be 2.75 hours. We will have lunch and turn around at this time whether we have reached Perry Gap or not.

Mooney Gap to Timber Ridge Trail in Standing Indian area.  5 miles on the AT plus 2.5 on the Timber Ridge for a total of 7.5 miles.   (≈ 4:00 hrs). Optional 1.2 miles to Big Laurel Falls.  Shuttle required.

Andrews Cove to Tray Mountain via the Andrews Cove Trail and AT.  9 miles ( 4:30 hrs) round trip.  2,500 ft. elevation gain.  360 degree view from the summit. Short shuttle required.

Dicks Creek Gap north to Cowart Gap on the AT.  This is a 3.6 mile ( ≈2:30 hrs) round trip hike with some moderate ascending and descending in both directions.

NC Bartram Trail, Apple Tree Campground to Beechertown on U.S. 19. This 10.6-mile section of the Bartram Trail offers early mileage along the Nantahala River then climbs well into higher peaks for great views with the leaves gone.

GA AT series 7B. Jack’s Gap to Unicoi Gap 6.6 miles (shuttle/key exchange).  Moderate.  4.4 miles on AT plus 2.2 miles on Jack’s Knob trail.  Trail passes Unicoi Gap (2949), Blue Mt. (4025), Blue Mt. Shelter trail (3800), Chattahoochee Gap (3500).  Some rocky sections of trail.

Standing Indian Area.  Up the Lower Ridge Trail to Standing Indian Mountain for a spectacular view.  South on the AT to Deep Gap. Dukes Creek Falls on the Richard Russell Scenic Highway.  Hike 2.2 miles round trip to the 250 ft. cascading falls.  Elevation change is 360 feet.

Jacks Gap to Brasstown Bald on the Jacks Knob and Summit Trail.  This 6 mile round trip hike climbs 1800 feet to the top of Georgia’s highest peak.                  (≈ 4:30 hrs )

Indian Grave Gap to Tray Mountain and back.   5.0 mile moderate hike on the AT to Tray Mt., the second highest point in GA.  The trail passes Indian Grave Gap (3113 ft), a fabulous hillside of Galax, the “cheese factory” turnoff, a viewpoint just before Tray Mt. (4430 ft).

 Smith Creek Trail  from Unicoi State Park to Ana Ruby Falls and return. A moderate 9 mile hike  (≈ 5 hrs) with lunch at the falls. State Park Pass or $ 3.00 Park Fee required.

GA AT series 3.  Woody Gap to Gooch Gap (in and out).  7.2 miles.  Moderately easy. 3.6 miles each way.  Trail passes Woody Gap (3150), Ramrock Mt. (3200) high point, Gooch Gap (2784) low point.  Joint Long and Short hike due to Holidays.   MHH “favorite”.

Jack Rabbit Bike/HikeTrail.   7.6 miles.  Hike four loops of the Jack Rabbit Bike/Hike Trail--3.1 miles on the white blazed loop, 2 miles on the blue blazed loop, 1 mile on the orange blazed trail, 1.5 miles on yellow blazed loop.  Great views of Lake Chatuge and variety of hardwoods.   Joint Long and Short hike due to Holidays.
